Physical Appearance
Manager First Steps
- Remove the device: from the box it arrived in and confirm there is a USB charger and lanyard.
- Charge the device.
- Assign the device to an employee using the Safety Assets and check if it's online or not.
- Back of device QR Code: WrkSpot has already configured the QR code on the back of the device to the employee profiles.
- Battery Check: Your manager can confirm the battery % in the Safety Assets section within the Safety Module.
- Click on the Safety Module in your Menu
- Click on Safety Assets [the 3rd tab] wherein you will view the device ID, employee name, battery %, and status
- You can also use the search and filter options to pinpoint device status
All Users: Device Charging Instructions
- Connecting the Charger: Attach the magnetic charger to the device and connect it to a USB port.
- Charging Indicator: While charging, the green light will blink every 2 seconds. When the device is fully charged, the green light will stay on until the charger is unplugged.
- Charging Time: It takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours to fully charge.
- Battery Life: A full charge provides up to 5 days of battery life on average use.
- Safety Precaution: Ensure that the two metallic contacts on the cord do not touch each other to prevent a short circuit and potential damage to the cord.
Status Indicator Lights
- Green Battery Indicator
- Blinking (while cord is connected): Charging in progress
- Slow Blinking (every 10 seconds): Low battery
- Solid Light: Fully charged
- Orange Cellular Network Indicator
- Solid light / No light: Connected to the network
- Blinking: Disconnected from the network. The device will automatically attempt to reconnect. If the issue persists, please contact support.
- Blue Positioning Indicator
- Blinking: Trying to determine the location of the device
- Solid light (then turns off): Location successfully determined
- Red Alarm Indicator
- Blinking & Vibrating: Alarm activated; the device is attempting to determine the location
- Stops Blinking & Vibrating: Location (if available) sent to recipients. If the location is unavailable, the alarm mode will stop on its own after 30 seconds.
Triggering a Panic Alert
- Press and hold the large red button for 1 second
- The device will start vibrating and the red light will blink
- This alarm mode will last for 30 seconds or until the location is successfully obtained (whichever is earlier)
How to stop the alarm mode (vibration and blinking red light) in case it doesn’t stop by itself?
- Press and hold the red button for 5 seconds
How to turn ON & OFF the device?
- The device will always be ON unless it runs out of battery.
- If the battery runs out, the device will automatically turn on once the charger is connected.
How to check if the device is ON?
- Press the function button once, and if the device is powered on, the green light will blink one time.
- If you don’t see a green light, please connect the device to the charger and it will turn on by itself.
To assign panic device to an employee, follow these steps:
- Enable the Safety > Safety Assets permission for the manager’s policy (and refresh the browser)
- Navigate to Safety > Safety Assets
- In the first tab (“Panic devices”), find the device-id (MAC) that needs to be assigned.
- Click on the 3 button on the right under Actions and click on “Assign”.
- (Optional) if the employee has a profile picture, you may download an ID card, print it and attach it to the panic device.
- Stay in the habit of checking the “Status” column to ensure devices are assigned and active.
